Can I get tattooed at 17 years old with parental consent?

 

Under the Tattooing of Minors Act 1969, it is illegal to tattoo anyone under the age of 18... even with parental consent. Therefore, you will have to wait until you have reached the correct age. Anyone who appears to be under the legal age, will be asked for photographic identification such as a passport or driving license.

 

 

Is it normal for my tattoo to fall out?

 

If your tattoo has been applied in a tricky location (especially fingers), it is not only susceptible to rapid fading, but pigment can fall out. If you notice large chunks missing from saturated areas of your tattoo, then some fall out has occured. This can also occur if you pick or scratch the scabs off your tattoos as well.

 

Can I sunbathe / tan after a tattoo?

 

Make sure you do not expose a new tattoo to direct sunlight for the first month of having it - especially the first two weeks. Your skin will not be able to block out UV rays, so you will be prone to sunburn. Even if it's not natural sunlight, like that of a tanning bed, it is still pretty risky after getting a tattoo.
